blm, or ben micklewright, has been increasingly on the radar of quality house heads in recent years with output for underground quality and secretsundaze nudging his profile slowly but surely. his stewardship of fear of flying alongside jay massive has resulted in the label, in similarly steady fashion, becoming a mustcheck for fans of the deeper end of house techno who are seeking something that sidesteps trends.blm is at his best when turning in moody, hypnotic and robust house cuts imbued with a distinct uk stylings and that is exactly what he does on *easy knocking* while also turning in electroid tones on opening cut, *paris beatdown*. the result is a classic sounding 4-track ep that has picked up support from efdemin, hackman, djulz, citizen and mosca.

gacha is a young artist originally from georgia, now operating in berlin, this second ep for apollo records is an excellent six tracker that fits the apollo chillout manifesto perfectly. his music is a cinematic, glacial mix of beautiful melodies, treated guitars and tender drum programming, and two tracks on this release see him working in tandem with natalie beridze who adds her ethereal vocals for standout tracks *saysea* and *atlas*. elsewhere on the ep gacha continues the form of his last ep, working his influences from classic electronica to garage into his trademark deep and atmospheric sound.

following a busy and fruitful 2013 that saw the release of his exceptional second album half of where you live and shows worldwide, uk electronic artist gold panda next week re-issues one of his earliest releases, quitters raga. the two-track 7 inch, long since sold out, was originally pressed by make mine records in 2009, with the now-cult track still being a staple of the artists live set. newly issued on gold pandas own label notown recordings, the vinyl-only release is limited to 600 copies as a deluxe heavy pressing and features the original.

described in typically self deprecating manner as a vanity imprint in the classically ornery tradition, the pear growers series is a new label from chris madak, best known for his mind bendingly good output as bee mask. the first release sees material from madaks excellent spectrum spools long player when we were eating unripe pears get treated to remixes from celebrated techno artists surgeon and abdulla rashim. anyone who has heard surgeon playing the remix on his rinse fm show will agree that his unashamedly emotive breakbeat reworking of *the story of keys & locks* is arguably one of the simplest and most affecting remixes this year. complementing this, prologue and semantica artist abdulla rashim delivers a take on *unripe pears* that will resonate with anyone that has indulged in the elusive producers recent output on his own eponymous label.

gtcm016 introduces d.k., a new artist to emerge from paris electronic underground. with an impressively accomplished sound for a debut release, this ep contains four original tracks and its all killer, no filler house in the vein of ron trent, moon b, ppu and future times

after launching with a fantastic first release from label boss tim green back in september, the boutique imprint disc over music is back with an equally impressive second release. this time from klasse recordings chief luca lozano and his klasse crew mate mr ho. together the pair offer up some hugely cultured house music complete with remixes from tim green and new label artist nicson. the ep will be released both digitally and on vinyl following the success of the first, which picked up support from the likes of solomun, marco carola and m.a.n.d.y. amongst many others.

after a remix for dasos so sexy last year, the german-peruvian artist martin patiño confirms his presence on popcorn records with an entire ep. to begin with, solid ground is born from the collaboration with astrid. we already heard them on the great hunter ep on cadenza at the beginning of the year. the result of this new featuring is an original techno track with all the good components you expect from tr707 drums to a xylophone melody, in addition to the sexy and reassuring voice of astrid. the american pezzner honored us with a particular interpretation. a deep theme, with percussions, long and subtle panpipes breathe. as if pezzner was paying tribute to martin patinos roots. finally, routinary coffes comes to conclude this warm and deep record done for the sweating parties of the upcoming winter.
